Announcing the Bento Box and a New Deep Linking Browser Tool
I'd like to take a moment to introduce our publishers to LinkShare's Bento Box. It is a place where you'll find all our early-stage features and 3rd party plug-ins. Today you'll find our WordPress plug-ins as well as a Mac Widget there, and also links to some Developers making good use of LinkShare Web Services. We'll keep adding goodies to the Bento Box - so stay tuned!
The newest addition to the Bento Box is the US version of our Deep Linking LinkGenerator Bookmarklet. Have you ever wished you can generate a deep link with the click of a button, without logging in to the Publisher Dashboard? Our LinkGenerator Bookmarklet in the UK does just that, and we've gotten quite a bit of positive feedback on it. Now, we're pleased to announce a Deep Linking LinkGenerator Bookmarklet in the US as well.
With this tool, you enter your Web Services Token and then click-and-drag the bookmarklet to your browser toolbar (or right click in IE). When you navigate to an Advertiser page you'd like to create a deep link to, hit the LinkGenerator button and a window will come up with a Deep Link to that page. A few things to note: links created using the bookmarklet will report as LinkBuilder links; and, as usual, you'll also need to have a relationship with the advertiser to deep link to their pages. You can pick up the LinkGenerator Bookmarklet and read instructions here.

Web Seminars
How to Get Better Conversions: SEO for Publishers
In this seminar, you will hear from Victoria Edwards, SEO Internet Marketing Specialist at LinkShare. She will share with you SEO best practices, including ideas that may help you increase your search traffic. The following quote highlights the growing importance of search marketing: "A recent MarketingSherpa study shows top organic positions are clicked 20 percent of the time and top paid-advertising positions are clicked 10 percent of the time. However, if a site has a top organic position and a top paid-advertising position, the links to the site are clicked 60 percent of the time. It's an unusual situation: 10 + 20 = 60."
